There are no student fees for the course, however each
participant is required to contribute towards the cost of the excursions, lecture notes and
tutorials. The amount to be paid is calculated for each course year and can be obtained on
request from the International Advanced Studies Course
administration.
Foreigners may apply for scholarships with such bodies as the World Bank, the Asian
Development Bank, the European
Community, the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD, the Carl-Duisberg-Society,
Konrad-Adenauer foundation, Friedrich-Ebert foundation, Heinrich-Boell foundation,
Friedrich-Naumann foundation, Hanns-Seidel foundation, KAAD Katholischer
Akademischer Auslaender-Dienst, Oekumenisches Studienwerk etc. Specific information can be
obtained from local
representatives in the applicant's country of residence or from any German Embassy abroad.
The DAAD offers "Scholarships for Postgraduate Courses with Relevance to Developing
Countries". Application forms for both the scholarship and the International Advanced Studies
Course can be obtained from German Embassies or DAAD offices abroad. Applications should
be submitted to embassies or DAAD offices by August 30 or to the International Advanced
Studies Course in Tuebingen by October 15 for the course commencing in the October of the
following year.
Prospective participants applying for scholarships from other institutions can be provisionally
admitted to the
International Advanced Studies Course on condition admission requirements are met as attested
by the above mentioned
documents. In such cases, application for admission to the course first has to be submitted
directly to the International Advanced Studies Course administration together with the
required documents; only then will additional information be supplied on the next step to
take.
