Scholarships

There are no student fees for the course, however each participant is required to contribute towards the cost of the excursions, lecture notes and tutorials. The amount to be paid is calculated for each course year and can be obtained on request from the International Advanced Studies Course administration.

Foreigners may apply for scholarships with such bodies as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Community, the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD, the Carl-Duisberg-Society, Konrad-Adenauer foundation, Friedrich-Ebert foundation, Heinrich-Boell foundation, Friedrich-Naumann foundation, Hanns-Seidel foundation, KAAD Katholischer Akademischer Auslaender-Dienst, Oekumenisches Studienwerk etc. Specific information can be obtained from local representatives in the applicant's country of residence or from any German Embassy abroad.

The DAAD offers "Scholarships for Postgraduate Courses with Relevance to Developing Countries". Application forms for both the scholarship and the International Advanced Studies Course can be obtained from German Embassies or DAAD offices abroad. Applications should be submitted to embassies or DAAD offices by August 30 or to the International Advanced Studies Course in Tuebingen by October 15 for the course commencing in the October of the following year.

Prospective participants applying for scholarships from other institutions can be provisionally admitted to the International Advanced Studies Course on condition admission requirements are met as attested by the above mentioned documents. In such cases, application for admission to the course first has to be submitted directly to the International Advanced Studies Course administration together with the required documents; only then will additional information be supplied on the next step to take.
